Sunshine almost every day of the year — but the water temperature, winds and crowds change a lot by season. Here's how to time your trip.

The Red Sea is a year-round destination — but the best time depends on what you want to do.

Spring (March–May): the sweet spot Comfortable air temperatures (24–32°C), warm water around 24–26°C and fewer crowds than summer. Perfect for snorkelling, diving and long beach days.

Summer (June–September): hot and lively Air can reach 38–42°C inland, but a constant sea breeze keeps the coast pleasant and the water is at its warmest (28–30°C). Great for water sports and families on school holidays — just plan activities for the morning.

Autumn (October–November): divers' favourite Many consider this the best diving season — water still warm, excellent visibility, and the chance of big pelagics on the southern reefs.

Winter (December–February): mild and quiet Daytime stays around 20–24°C and sunny, water cools to ~21–22°C (a wetsuit helps). Quietest and cheapest season — ideal if you prefer calm resorts and lower prices.

Whatever month you choose, you'll get sunshine almost every day — the Red Sea sees rain only a handful of times a year.
